(Barney Theme Song Starts)

Kids: Barney is a dinosaur

From our imagination,

And when he's tall, he's what we call

A dinosaur sensation!

Barney's friends are big and small;

They come from lots of places.

After school they meet to play

And sing with happy faces

Barney shows us lots of things

Like how to play pretend,

ABC's and 123s

And how to be a friend.

Barney comes to play with us

Whenever we may need him.

Barney can be your friend too,

If you just make-believe him!

(Barney Favorites Volume 1 title card)

(After the theme song we see Christine, Kevin, Heather, David preparing for a picnic in the backyard.)

Heather: This is gonna be a fun picnic you guys!

Christine: It sure is.

David: Yeah but it seems like something's missing

(Heather, Christine & Kevin agree)

(Jason walks in carrying a picnic basket with the Barney doll peeking out of the basket)

Jason: Hi, guys!

(David, Heather, Christine & Kevin greet Jason)

(Jason puts the picnic basket on the stump and takes out the Barney doll)

Jason: Look who I brought!

Jason (Imitating Barney): Hi Everybody!

(David, Heather, Christine & Kevin greet the Barney doll)

David: I knew that something was missing.

Kevin: It's definitely gonna be our best picnic yet now!

(Jason, David, Heather & Christine agree)

(Camera pans to the Barney doll and he comes to life)

Barney: Whoa! Did somebody say picnic?

Kids: Barney!

(They all hug Barney)

Barney: Hi guys! Oh I just love picnics! The fresh air, the good food, the games and all of the friends!

Heather: And it's gonna be a lot better now that you're here.

David: Yeah! Because we know something special always happens when you're around!

Barney: That's true! But every day can be special when your with your friends and family.

(My Family's Just Right for Me starts)

Barney: and families are very special you know (laugh)

All: Oh, a family is people and a family is love.

That's a family.

They come in all different sizes and different kinds,

But mine's just right for me.

Yeah, mine's just right for me.

Christine: I've got a friend who lives with his mom and dad,

With his brother and sister, too.

They've got a cat, a dog and a pet bullfrog

And I'm really glad they do.

All: Oh, a family is people and a family is love.

That's a family.

They come in all different sizes and different kinds,

But mine's just right for me.

Yeah, mine's just right for me.

Barney: Yep it's true! Your family is just right for you.

Jason: There's a girl I know who lives with her mom.

Her dad lives far away.

Although she sees her parents just one at a time,

They both love her everyday.

All: Oh, a family is people and a family is love.

That's a family.

They come in all different sizes and different kinds,

But mine's just right for me.

Yeah, mine's just right for me.

David: I know a boy who's new, he just moved in.

He moved from Alabama.

And the person who's the head of his family,

is his loving, dear old grandma.

All: Oh, a family is people and a family is love.

That's a family.

They come in all different sizes and different kinds,

But mine's just right for me.

Yeah, mine's just right for me.

Barney: Time for the family portrait

(Everyone laughs as the song ends)

Barney: Oh boy! That was so much fun!

Christine: Yeah I just love that song!

Kevin: Yeah me too but after all that singing, I'm getting kind of hungry!

(All the other kids agree)

(Barney's tummy rumbles)

Kids: Whoa!

Jason: You must really be hungry Barney!

Barney: I sure am! It's a good thing I just happened to bring my lunch box with me!

(Barney uses his magic to make a lunch box appear)

(Kids adlib about the lunch box)

Christine: What do you have inside your lunch box Barney?

Barney: Well let me see I have apples, bananas, carrot sticks, yogurt, some fruit juice, some veggies (gotta have my veggies) a chicken (Bacawk!) (fades out as instrumental music plays)

(As Barney is listing everything in his lunchbox, he takes out food and then it eventually turns into him handing out random stuff to the kids to put it on the picnic blanket) (All of this is done with time lapse)

Barney: ... and some pistachio nuts. There that's everything!

(Kids adlib as the camera shows the picnic basket full of food)

Heather: That's everything all right!

Kevin: In fact I think you overdid it!

Barney: Whoops! Sorry! Let me fix that!

(Barney uses his magic and takes away all of the random stuff and organizes the food making the display a lot cleaner)

(Kids adlib about how much better that is)

Barney: There much better! Now let's eat.

Jason: Wait! There's one more thing to make this display complete!

(Kids and Barney ask what it is)

Jason: It's a whole bunch of

Barney: (Gasp) Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches!

Jason: That's right! And my mom happens to make the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the whole world!

Barney: The best? In the whole wide world? Really?

Jason: Uh-huh!

Barney: Can I please have one?

Jason: Of course, my mom made enough for everyone!

(Kids cheer)

Barney: Oh Boy!

Barney: Alright! Let's eat!

(Everyone gathers at the picnic basket and starts eating) (After a 30 second montage of the kids enjoying the picnic, David notices some ants)

David: Hey guys look at this! I found some ants.

(Barney and the other kids run over to David)

Christine: It looks like you're not the only one who enjoys those sandwiches, Barney!

David: Yeah! They seem to be marching away with those crumbs!

Barney: Well why don't we march with them!

All: The ants go marching one by one. Hurrah! Hurrah!

All: The ants go marching four by four. Hurrah! Hurrah!

The little one stops to pick up sticks.

And they all go marching down to the ground to get out of the rain.

Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.

Barney: Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.

All: The ants go marching seven by seven. Hurrah! Hurrah!

The ants go marching eight by eight. Hurrah! Hurrah!

David: That was fun!

(A loud CRUNCH is heard)

All: Whoa!

Christine: Did you guys hear that?

Kevin: Yeah it sounds like someone was eating something?

Jason: Yeah but who?

(Heather walks up to the picnic blanket and sees the Apples and Bananas were gone)

Heather: Hey guys! It looked like someone took all of our apples and bananas.

(The rest of the gang walk over to the picnic blanket)

Barney: You're right! I wonder who took them?

(CRUNCH)

Christine: There's that crunch again!

Jason: It sounds like it's coming from the clubhouse! Let's Go!

(They all agree and head to the clubhouse)

(Jason gets to the door first and opens it and sees Baby Bop on the couch eating an apple)

Jason: Hey look it's...

All: Baby Bop!

Baby Bop: Whoa! Hi Barney! Hi Friends!

All: Hi Baby Bop!

David: So it was you who took our apples and bananas.

Baby Bop: Yeah! Baby Bop was hungry!

Barney: Yeah but Baby Bop, if you wanted something to eat, you could have just asked us. We would have loved to share our food with you.

(The kids agree)

Baby Bop: Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't think about that. But I'll share the rest with all of my friends!

All (except Baby Bop): Aw! Thanks Baby Bop!

Baby Bop: Ooh, I do love apples though and bananas

Baby Bop: I want to play! I want to play!

(The kids agree)

Barney: Ok then, what do you want to play?

Jason: How bout some jump rope?

Barney: Oh boy I love jump rope!

Baby Bop: Me too! Me too!

David: I actually want to go play on the slide for a little bit.

Heather & Christine: Yeah me too!

Barney: Ok then, let's play!

(Barney, Baby Bop, Jason and Kevin walk over to one side of the backyard while Heather, Christine and David head over to the playset)

David: Hey! I have a really fun idea! Why don't we pretend to go camping? We can pretend we're in the woods and we can pitch a pretend tent and maybe even roast some pretend marshmallows.

Heather: That sounds like fun!

Christine: Let's do it!

(A-Camping We Will Go starts)

Heather, David & Christine: A camping we will go.

A camping we will go.

Baby Bop, Jason, Kevin: Barney, Barney, is his name,

Imagination is his game.

Barney, Barney, he's our friend,

He's the best at let's pretend.

Barney, Barney, helps us grow,

and learn the things that we should know.

Barney: Aw shucks, that's such a great rhyme.

(Baby Bop, Jason & Kevin thank Barney)

Barney: Hmm, I wonder what the others are doing?

Jason: Let's go find out!

Baby Bop: But wait, I didn't get a turn to jump!

Barney: Ok well how about Jason and I stay here and let you have your turn while Kevin and go and see what they're doing.

Kevin: That sounds like a plan.

Baby Bop: Ok!

Kevin: All right then, I'll see you later.

Barney: Ok Bye! We'll be there as soon as where done!

Kevin: Ok.

(Scene fades to Heather, Christine and David sitting in their pretend tent)

David: We're having a pretend camping trip.

Heather; Don't stand too close, you'll step in our pretend camp fire

(Kevin takes a step back)

Kevin: That sounds like fun! Can I join?

Heather, Christine and David: Sure!

(Kevin sits down next to Christine)

Kevin: Well what are we going to do now?

Christine: Well we were just getting ready to sing a campfire song.

Kevin: Cool, which one?

David: Do you guys know Sarasponda?

(Kevin, Christine and Heather adlib that they know)

David: Great, how about us three sing and Kevin you can keep time.

Baby Bop: Uh-Oh! It looks like it's going to rain Barney!

Barney: You're right Baby Bop.

Heather: We should probably start cleaning up from our picnic.

All: Clean up! Clean up! Everybody, everywhere.

(Song ends)

David: All right, the backyard is all clean again.

Barney: Good job everybody! Now I've got to go take out the trash, so you guys can stay out here and play for a few minutes until I get back, OK?

Kids: OK.

Baby Bop: Can I come with you, Barney?

Barney: Sure you can! OK kids, we'll be back!

(Kids say goodbye to Barney and Baby Bop as they take the trash back inside the clubhouse)

David: I sure hope it doesn't start raining, we were having so much fun!

Kevin: Don't worry about that David, if it starts raining, we can just go inside and play with Barney and Baby Bop some more.

David: I'm still a little afraid of rainstorms though.

Christine: That's OK, we can just imagine that the rain is something much sweeter like candy.

Heather: and Ice cream.

Jason: and chocolate.

David: Oh what a rain that would be!

(If All The Raindrops starts)

Christine: If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops

Oh, what a rain that would be

Standing outside with my mouth open wide

Kids: Ah Ah-ah Ah Ah-ah Ah Ah-ah Ah

Christine: If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops

Oh, what a rain that would be.

David: Mmm! That would be good! But what if it were snowing. What would that be like?

Jason: Well...

If all the snowflakes were candy bars and milkshakes

Oh, what a snow that would be

Standing outside with my mouth open wide

Kids: Ah Ah-ah Ah Ah-ah Ah Ah-ah Ah

If all the snowflakes were candy bars and milkshakes

Oh, what a snow that would be.

David: That would be delicious, but what about sunbeams?

Heather: If all the sunbeams were bubble gum and ice cream

Oh, what a sun that would be

Standing outside with my mouth open wide

Kids: Ah Ah-ah Ah Ah-ah Ah Ah-ah Ah

If all the sunbeams were bubble gum and ice cream

Oh, what a sun that would be.

Kevin: Oh, if we ate all of that though we'd all have big tummies like Barney's.

(They all agree)

All: If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops

Oh, what a rain that would be

Standing outside with my mouth open wide

Ah Ah-ah Ah Ah-ah Ah Ah-ah Ah

If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops

Oh, what a rain that would be.

(Song ends)

(Thunder crashes)

David: Uh-Oh, it looks like it's going to rain, well you know rain.

Kevin: Let's get inside, quick!

(They all rush inside)

(The scene fades to Barney & Baby Bop on the couch playing a game of cards)

Barney: Got any three's

Baby Bop: Nope! Just me! Cause I'm Three!

(Barney Laughs)

(Thunder crashes)

Barney: Oh Boy! I think it's going to start raining.

(The kids run in to the clubhouse and gather on the couch next to Baby Bop)

Barney: Oh back so soon!

(Sound of rain pouring)

Jason: Yep and there comes the rain, right on cue.

Heather: and now we're stuck inside

Kevin: with nothing to do.

Barney: Oh, I'm sure we'll find stuff to do if we just look.

David: Oh, Barney. I wish it wouldn't rain. I'm afraid of big storms like this.

Barney: Oh, David. There's nothing to be afraid of. The storm will go away pretty soon and besides the rain is a really good thing. It helps gives wild animals a nice drink and it helps flowers, plants and trees grow up big and tall. Whoa!

(Barney uses his magic to make an easel appear with a picture of a dog on it)

(The kids and Baby Bop laugh)

Kevin: Um Barney, that's neither a flower, a plant nor a tree, that's a dog.

Barney: It is?

(Barney sees the easel and the dog on it)

Barney: Oh, It is! (laughs) I must have been confused by the bark!

Baby Bop & Kids: Oh, Barney! (Laughs)

(Barney uses his magic and the picture changes into a picture of a hole and some grass)

Jason: Barney, that's not a tree either, it's just a hole.

Barney: Oh, but it will be a tree.

(And the Green Grass Grows All Around starts)

Heather (as Little Red): That's me!

Barney: And one day, Little Red was on her way to grandma's house with a basket full of goodies for her grandmother.

Heather: Let's see, I've got apples, oranges, bananas and a bottle of fruit juice. Granny just loves her fruits.

Barney: But as she was skipping through the forest, she suddenly bumps into a wolf. A BIG, BAD, wolf.

(Jason dressed up as a wolf pops out from behind a tree)

Kevin & David (In the audience): Boo!

Little Red: To my Granny's house with this basket of goodies.

Big Bad Wolf: Granny's house eh? That sure is a long walk. Won't you come for a ride with me in my car? I'll take you there as quick as a wink.

Little Red: Oh No! I'm never supposed to get in a car with a stranger. I shouldn't even be talking to you anyway! Good day sir!

Little Red: I sure did, and I will be careful from now on.

(The scene then cuts to Barney and as he talks the scene pans to the easel which now says

Barney: Oh Goody!

(Me and My Teddy starts)

Baby Bop: Me and my best teddy bear

Sitting in my favorite chair,

We are going out to play

Just like every day.

I got lots of friends out there

And they're lots of fun,

But they're not my teddy bear

He's my favorite one.

Me and my teddy, gettin' all ready

Gettin' all ready to play.

Me and my teddy, gettin' all ready

Gettin' all ready to play.

You know, I've got a lot of friends that I play with.

You know, I've got a lot of friends who are fun.

But then they can't do anything like my teddy,

'Cause my teddy, he is the one.

Me and my teddy, gettin' all ready

Gettin' all ready for bed.

Me and my teddy, gettin' all ready

Gettin' all ready for bed.

You know I'm never really frightened at nighttime.

You know I'm not even scared of the dark.

'Cause with my teddy right here alongside me

I'm not even scared of a shark!

Me and my teddy, gettin' all ready

Gettin' all ready for school.

Me and my teddy, gettin' all ready

Gettin' all ready for school.

I got to leave him at home

By himself all alone.

But he doesn't mind, and that's cool.

That's Cool!

(Song ends)

Barney & Kids: Yay! Great Job Baby Bop!

Baby Bop: Thanks everybody!

David: Hey look at that it stopped raining!

Baby Bop: And I know he'll always care.

BJ: She's my sister.

I love my sister.

I've given her a great big hug

When she was feeling bad.

We're a happy family.

With a great big hug

And a kiss from me to you,

Won't you say you love me too?

I love you, you love me,

We're best friends,

Like friends should be

With a great big hug,

And a kiss from me to you,

Won't you say you love me too?

(Song ends as Barney and the kids share a group hug)

(Kids say goodbye to Barney and leave the clubhouse)

Barney: Bye kids, I've had fun today! See you next time!

(Jason stops at the door, turns off the lights and smiles at the Barney doll for a moment than walks off. The camera then pans to the Barney doll on the couch with the cassette player one one side of him, the teddy bear on the other, the fireman hat on his head and the cowboy bandana on his body. He then winks with his right eye and then it fades to black and then fades to the closing credits)
